Bring it home for Cape Town: Last chance to vote for World Travel Awards

Voting for the World Travel Awards closes in one week on 24 October with Cape Town once again vying for a host of awards, including the World’s Leading Festival & Event Destination 2021, a title it currently holds for the 2020 year. The awarding of these accolades for our city would go a long way in positioning the local tourism industry for recovery.

The winners in the World categories are expected to be announced on 26 November.
‘The tourism sector is a vital part of the local economy and we can help this industry recover by putting our support behind Cape Town. Winning these awards will mean that the city is reaffirmed as a sought after tourist destination for local and international visitors, which is key ahead of the summer peak season.
‘With South Africa also now removed from the UK red list, we can foresee increased tourism numbers in the months ahead. However, the long-term recovery is dependent on increased global visibility and renewed interest, which these acknowledgements create. Please vote for Cape Town and make sure you’re also vaccinated against Covid-19 so we can keep South Africa and Cape Town open,’ said Executive Mayor Dan Plato.

Table Mountain for World’s Leading Tourist Attraction
Cape Town as World’s Leading City Break Destination as well as World’s Leading City Destination,

Villa Two at Ellerman House for World’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa,
Lawhill Luxury Apartments for World’s Leading Serviced Apartments,
Go2Africa for World’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator,
Babylonstoren Hotel for World’s Leading Resort Sensory Garden
Cape Town International Airport is up for Africa’s Leading Airport, as well as Table Mountain, Robben Island and the V&A Waterfront were candidates for Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction. Winners in the Africa category will be announced soon.
